Appreciation makes the other person know that you care. It’s totally better than criticism or negatives. When you appreciate one person, it means you’ve to notice them, know what they’ve done, and understand how it’s become valuable. The most important things in appreciating someone is you learn alot.
Feeling genuinely appreciated lifts people up. At the most basic level, it makes us feel safe, which is what frees us to do our best work. It’s also energizing. But people nowadays are different, openly praising or expressing appreciation to other people at work can so easily seem awkward, contrived, mawkinsh and even disingenous. This occasion caused by reality that we’re not fluent in the language of positive emotions in workplace. We’re so unaccostumed to sharing them that we don’t feel comfortable doing so.
The easiest way to tell someone you appreciate the is by saying “thank you”. We also able to show our appreciation by spending time with someone by listening, cause sometimes people just want to be heard and understood. Authentically appreciating others will make you feel better about yourself. Showing appreciation will eventually manifest into bigger and better things for us and others.
And right now, get used to spend your time for listening longer and understanding deeper. It’s first step to appreciate people and begins to adopt an attitude of gratitude (:
